We gotta get a new dishwasher...
Oh Eva's so funny. Tonight I was cleaning up the kitchen, getting ready to run the dishwasher and wanting to make sure it was full first. So I'd gone through the refrigerator to get rid of any "old" items. I'm at the sink happily putting things down the drain - running the water, when I thought, "how did I spill water on the floor?" I look down and the floor is covered in water, I open the cabinet to see the GARBAGE DISPOSAL has fallen out -- seriously, how does that happen???
Matt comes to the rescue cleaning and fixing, I'm considering throwing up seeing the food bits and such, but trying to help mop up water. And little old Eva is standing back informing both of us, "We gotta get a new dishwasher - this (vis) one is broken. Better go to Walmart." Wise words spoken by a little person!
Clearly we need a TARGET in town, but what can I say? :-)

Eva's 1st Movie @ the Movie Theater...
Tonight we took the girls to see the Princess & the Frog - both girls have seen the commercials for weeks and have been dying to go. Aunt Kim went with us and Ella Griggs ended up at the same movie too - which worked out well b/c it took all three girls... Grace-Eva-Ella to hold two movie seats down!
The movie was SUPER cute, even I liked it, and the girls were like termites when it came to snacks, drinks and popcorn! Someone spilled Eva's popcorn cup and Eva kept loudly saying, "Mommy, look at this MESS!" At one point I told her she made it - and that was NOT the statement to make b/c she gave me the index finger and said, "ME DID NOT DO IT!" I was afraid they would stop the movie, so I was like, okay okay - you're right. I mean isn't that how it always works? :-)

Disney on Ice
Tonight we went w/ Nanni & Poppy and took the girls to Conceco to see Disney on Ice. I don't know how we got so lucky - I guess Mom's shopping the pre-sale for the tickets, but we were like the 8th row off the floor and center ice! Grace had been once before, but Eva was ga-ga over the entire event. Grace loved it, but also loved all the "extras" :-) i.e. the $12 cotton candy that Poppy bought her. It cracks me up b/c Poppy is buying it saying, "I'll get you to like cotton candy someday (when Grace was little - Eva's age, she wouldn't even try it!)" Yet Poppy's still saying it while Grace is eating it as fast as you breath air! And, a dentist - doesn't seem to jive does it?
Once the show started and the characters came out on the ice, Eva literally kept her right arm in the air waving for the whole first half of the show -- nearly an hour! At one point she had to use her left arm to support the right one but she didn't quit waving. After the intermission, and a good rest she was good to go back to waving, but started to get tired towards the end.
I remember taking Grace to Disney at Eva's age and forgot how at that age they TRULY believe that is Cinderella, or Mickey Mouse, etc... it's amazing to watch. It's no wonder that Eva is scared when Grace puts on a scary Halloween mask, I mean clearly she is easily convinced that Cinderella is waving to her - so a monster isn't a far stretch.

The Office is now COMPLETE!!!!
The office - aka: Matt's masterpiece, is now complete! I'm so excited, I now have my space and the girls have theirs. It's so creative and relaxing - I can just envision all the fun and learning that is going to take place there. Okay I know, there will be a squabble or two, but they have their own computers, their own space - I think we're looking GOOD.
What can I say - I'm a glass half full girl;-)

Monkey attack...
I'd gone to Pat's house to take senior pictures and the girls were inside w/ Pat and Kim - playing and I'm sure Grace was customizing some one of a kind art pieces... Ophra was playing in the background, apparently interviewing the lady who was attacked by her friends chimp/ape - something from the monkey family. When w/out notice Ophra had her remove the veil she had covering her face, I guess what was left was just awful. I know I should be proud to know this lady survived, but my two little girls saw it, and for the brief minute that it remained on have been TERRIFIED of the "monkey who had the bleed". Grace is afraid to go to the bathroom by herself at home, and Eva wouldn't sleep upstairs. I didn't see it, but Matt said it was bad - he turned off the set. I'm hoping they easily forget it b/c Eva kicked me all night long!

Madeline bit me on the nose!
Today when I picked Eva up I was running a little bit late - I'd gone to get Gracie at school first so we could all go to the park before it got dark. I walked into Brenda's w/ Grace and Eva came running out saying, "MommyMadelineBitMeOnTheNOSE!" all one word:-) It took me a minute to realize - she'd sayd "Mommy Madeline Bit Me on the NOSE!" even though I was looking right at her cute little button nose and she has a big red ring on it! OUCH! Poor baby, and of course b/c of Eva's history:-) I had to ask, "Did Eva do anything to her?" But Brenda (thankfully) said "No, nothing." Guess Maddy was just having a bad day.
Brenda said when it happened, she got a tissue for Eva and there was some blood and Eva called for her friends to see "her bleed!". After doctored by Brenda, and Maddy was scolded, Maddy was in the playroom crying when Eva went in and told her, "Maddy, why you cry? All you hafta do is say you sorry. It doesn't hurt no more." Isn't she cute!!!
Apparently Maddy's mom cried when she heard, I felt bad for Eva and can't look at her little nose w/out thinking "Poor Baby!" but you can't live in a glass house and throw stones! I know from past experience w/ Eva you can try all you want to keep them from biting and it still may not matter:-) So Eva has proudly wore her war wounds - telling everyone what happened;-)

Playing in the leaves...
Playing in the leaves – for the first time ever we raked (and blew) leaves into a pile so the girls could jump in them. And we have sooooo many leaves, it’s crazy! Grace would literally go underneath the leaves and disappear. Eva would get upset looking for her and Grace would POP up! Eva would be both happy and frightened at the same time. I couldn’t believe my little girl who doesn’t like bugs was okay doing this but she loved it!
