Eva vs. the diaper

Eva vs. the diaper... who would have thought that wearing a diaper was such a big deal. I don't know why Eva throws such fits over it but last night after the girls took their shower Eva started in w/ refusing to wear her diaper, and it didn't end for 45 minutes. We even took her up to her crib naked, screaming and told her she couldn't get out until she either allowed Mommy, Daddy or Grace to put on a diaper, a pull up, or big girl panties... every offer received the same response, "Go away Daddy". I'm not sure what Matt did but finally she broke down and allowed him to put a diaper on, but by then she had puffy eyes and everyone was tramatized. Who wants to end their evening like that???

Mommy these fish sticks are awful!

Tonight we went out to dinner w/ Mom, Dad and Rob while Matt raced. Eva was in one of her moods... so Uncle Rob thought he would tease her and say something that she is always saying. So he tells Eva, "don't look at me" which you would think might make a 2 year old burst into tears, but not my 2 year old! She responded w/, "that's right - don't look at me" Wow the boys that date her don't stand a chance - she said this while looking super cute too. Then there is Gracie who is happily coloring flowers and hearts on the table cloth (they had brown paper over the linen table cloth, so it was okay). Grace ordered fish sticks (from Bone Fish) and was eating them, when she tells me w/ a smile, "Mommy these fish sticks are awful!" I said, "so you like them?" Grace says, "yep!" So mom and I figure she actually meant AWESOME vs. AWFUL... I guess a big vocabulary has to start somewhere, right?

Eva has been having a rough time at Brenda's - or I should say, those around Eva are having a rough time b/c she's been in trouble for biting, pinching, hitting, name calling - you name it! So Friday when I picked her up she refused to put on her boots (she insisted on wearing her cowboy boots to Brenda's) so I'm stuck carrying her and all her items to the car, w/ her screaming and squirming. I managed to get her in the car seat safely, but some how w/ everything I was holding I lost my center of gravity and knocked my head into the edge of the car - hitting right at my right eyebrow. Oh my did it ever hurt, I saw stars and instantly had a big goose eye... and later a black eye. Eva nicely pointed out that she didn't do it - my car did. Nice, huh?

Grandparents Night...

Goodness, what am I going to do w/ Eva?

Today while I was at work Brenda emailed me to say - wow Eva's been awful today... and goes on to say how she's bitten two people and time out isnt' even phasing her, etc... AND while Molly's mom was dropping her off this morning, Eva told Molly she wouldn't play w/ her b/c she "is gross and nasty" -- OMG! So when I get to Brenda's I'm inquiring about what went on, I've been racking my brain wondering where she heard the word nasty... when Brenda says, "oh, I guess when Molly picks her nose, I say - Molly don't do that it's gross and nasty!" Hmmm... I'm guessing that's where she's heard it. But for some unknown reason Eva does not like Molly (at least most days) and I don't know why Molly seems to be super sweet.

So that night as I'm rocking Eva, she puts her hand on my cheek (I'm thinking to tell me how she'll be nice to Molly tomorrow...) but no she says, "Mommy, me no like Molly, her not my friend" Oh my, what do do w/ that? I mean seriously... I told her, okay well if you can't be nice to her - DON'T BE MEAN.

Rees's Wedding

Mia and I took pics for Erin Rees's wedding, and Matt and the girls went to the wedding and reception - boy are we ever going to have our hands full w/ Gracie... we had to drag her off the dance floor. She was out there dancing w/ the big girls, and she can DANCE! Everyone couldn't get over how social and out going she is, I'm just like "yep that's my Gracie" :-)

Gotta love her! And of course Eva was right behind her;-)

Daisy Scouts

Okay why you might ask did I let Grace sign up for Daisy's? Only b/c Carla called and said that Jylian was going to do it was Grace? Ugh... I thought okay, how bad can it be??? Well I hope the program goes better than our night there b/c one of the mom's, lets just say wasn't nice, Eva fell and busted her lip -- and they want me to go CAMPING! Okay I don't camp, I didn't even like camping when I was Grace's age... and there is no way I want to do it now. I hope our next meeting is better... fingers crossed.
