Picnic w/ Keifers...

Today we went out to Keifer's for a picnic and a hike - the live on Flat Rock River, the weather was perfect! And it's so nice out there, can't say I'm ready to move but a sweet location. The girls, Grace, Eva & Evelyn had tons of fun playing... poor Eva though was back to trying to keep up with the big girls:-) The girls played outside for a while, then we hiked up a trail w/ picnic items, had a late lunch, and wondered around the trails.

The girls had tons of fun running around, throwing huge rocks and sticks into the water to hear the splash. And of course I was repeatedly informed of what my daughters new name was, "Mommy, I'm not Grace any more - I'm Barbie, okay?" then the game would change, "Mommy, I'm not Babrbie any more I'm so-and-so, and on and on..." Guess both Grace and Evelyn have quite an imagination.

After hiking we headed back to let the girls play dress-up;-)

You know you love someone when you manage to wear their vomit and still smile.... eww.... :-)

Wow does Eva ever have a temper! She is just like her daddy:-)

Both girls wore their bathing suits around the house for most of the evening - who knows where the fun in that is, but they must like it. So Eva's been walking around in Grace's bathing suit but it was bed time... so after her bath she thought she could just go back to the bathing suit. Matt told her, "No it's bedtime, you can wear it tomorrow" this was followed by Eva saying "NO!" And trying to get the bathing suit back on, we managed - and yes it was VERY hard, to get her PJ's on... took the two of us:-) But we managed to get her PJs on, she kept trying to take them off w/ Matt saying "no" and pulling the pants back up.

She screamed and cried for so long, I finally picked her up saying, "let's go to bed..." on the way up the stairs.... she throws up everywhere! It was so gross! Both Eva & I are covered in vomit - ick! Some got on the carpet - ewww.... I think all that screaming and she got too much air in her tummy b/c after that she was fine, but she and I both needed a shower.

You know you love someone when you manage to wear their vomit and still smile.... eww.... :-)

Who let the monkey's out of the zoo???

So tonight we went to Greenwood -- looking for flooring and checking out receivers at Best Buy. The girls weren't too bad when we were in the flooring store, although at one point Eva was saying something about her pants and the next thing I know a lady walks by and says, "O-oh! Somebody's lost their pants:-)" And that would be Eva - she's standing there in her onesie w/ her pants around her ankles... what am I going to do w/ her???

So on to Best Buy, while we were there I seriously felt like someone had let the monkey's out of the zoo -- and I didn't mean the employees there! The girls are singing and dancing, running everywhere. I'm always right behind them, worried they will get lost or some perv will try and steal them, but by the time we left I almost figured, "whatever, no one wants to take them home!" Of course even thinking that and I'm still chasing them, where is the logic there?? When it was time to leave Matt insisted on Eva wearing her coat (I was just a bystander - agreeing but watching!) Eva vehemently disagreed and SCREAMED all the way to the car and from Best Buy all the way to I-65 S (nearly 15 minutes!).

Just like Grace...

Eva who would throw a fit when we would have to make her do the breathing treatment is now HAPPILY doing it b/c Grace is doing it first - how perfect is that? B/c of course she has to do EVERYTHING Gracie does!

Spending the day at Grams's...

After Grace's illness we just weren't ready to take a chance sending her to Brenda's -- didn't want to expose her to other germs before her little body had bounced back (plus, when she's tired -- and she's tired! she's grouchier, and whinier... Brenda doesn't need that w/ all the other little ones!)

Grams wrote and said, "Grace and I are home she just finished a McDonalds sweet roll and choc. milk. We went to builders lumber to pick out a new door - we saw Brad Kiefer and Evelyn there. Grace was thrilled to see Evelyn. Grace is coloring right now. She sure look much better."

Wow, what a difference a day makes...

Wow, what a difference a day makes... I wouldn't say Grace is any where near the total recovery mark, but wow she's really bounced back fast! Yesterday they were considering hospitalizing her and now she's whiny but declaring that she's "all better" and wanting Kim to come over and play with her - amazing! Maybe Matt was right in having her get the two shots - good thing he was the one that took her b/c I'm not sure I could have made that call. I mean one shot is bad enough, but two -- no way! I couldn't do it myself, so to ask the doctor to give her the shots, I'm thinking it's just not in me. But clearly the best decision.

Grace thought the swabbing of her throat for the strep test was worse than the shots - I know you're thinking, obviously she's not my child -- I mean seriously, worse than shots??? No way! But she thought so, I guess more power to her. Daddy also followed through with his "I got ice cream when I was little and got shots" and brought both girls pineapple whip - which was perfect b/c Eva could then have some (no milk). He's always thinking (even when you don't think so!)
