TOYS R US... I think it's good therapy:-)

I had a senior photo shoot late afternoon, so Nanni & Poppy watched the girls until I got back... w/ Matt being gone and Jay's death neither Matt or Pat were available. I think Poppy had his fill of Grace being 4 - not that she was truly doing anything wrong - or right I guess I should say, just being 4. She was getting into everything, not listening well, you know - a basic four year old. So Poppy snapped at her... I took that as our cue to go do something and get out of his space. So where do you go on a rainy Saturday evening w/ two little kids? You betcha - TOYS R US!

We went to get Grace's Halloween costume, she wants to be Jasmine. I'm sure b/c that is probably the only princess costume she doesn't have - she's a smart cookie:-) But I knew I would leave the store w/ more than just a costume. We spent forever playing in the isle - Eva w/ the babies and Grace w/ the dogs, princesses - basically everything but the babies. Grace had picked out a Jasmine princess crown and new Barbie panties but she exchanged those for a princess dog (you know the type Paris Hilton would carry - only cuter and stuffed). Eva tried out nearly every baby in the isle, but went for a baby doll stroller w/ Grace's help. Here is where the problem may have started...

We got home - both girls happy w/ their selections, took me forever to get Eva's stroller put together... only made worse b/c both girls are like on my shoulder trying to watch. Grace kept telling Eva, "Mommy's doing her BEST" b/c I clearly wasn't cut out for stroller assembly... another Matt item (boy do we miss him!). So once the stroller was finally assembled, Eva was in LOVE - however, Grace really felt like her new dog needed to ride in the stroller. It was so funny from a non-parent view to stand back and watch Grace in action, trying to convince Eva why her baby didn't want to be in the stroller but rather the red Radio Flyer wagon. Eva wasn't going for it, but the minute Eva turned her back for a second... the baby would be on the floor and off Grace would go w/ the stroller. Generally w/ Eva' crying and screaming after her. I kept trying to explain to Grace - she got the dog and Eva got the stroller... 1:1 present wise, but that didn't seem to sink in... maybe I would understand better if I were 4.
