About that time a county sheriff officer pulls up - not sure if he called the fire department or a neighbor, but shortly after he arrived the fire department showed up. Of course the girls are not taking a nap now, they were standing in the window watching... Grace wanting to go join them - of course. It took about 45 minutes to get the fire out, luckily nothing big was hurt and it was either land we own or land Matt's mom owns so we were safe:-) I think next time Matt will pay closer attention to the weather conditions before burning!

Excitement at the Lux house...
Okay so I guess we don't have enough excitement at our house as it is... Matt was cleaning up the garage and basement and took some wood pieces out back to burn. I know just reading this you already know where it's going, right? I mean seriously what story starts w/ "burn" and ends well?? :-) I had just laid the girls down for their nap, when an unknown neighbor rings the bell and says, "your husband is burning something out back, and it's spreading to the field". Of course this is the first I knew of Matt burning anything so I'm like, "okay I'll tell him (thinking C-ya). So I turn to go tell Matt, when I look out the back window and HOLY CRAP! He's right! I run to the garage as the whole field is smoking (just little flames - but black streaks everywhere and tons and tons of SMOKE!). I catch Matt in the garage and say, "a neighbor said the field is burning - and he's right!" Matt takes off to the back, and jumps on the dozer, he's using it to try and stop out the flames as the wind makes them race faster across the field.
